How Sweet It Isn’t

How sweet it would be to be able to order supplies and they come in the way you need them – as in the case of powdered sugar…..powdered. We ordered Organic Powdered Sugar from our supplier and thought since we have waited an ample amount of time between this and the last time we ordered from them as the former order was Clumped Powdered Sugar, but no, the sugar continues to be clumped. How clumped was the powdered sugar? Very clumped. So clumped that the Ice Man who was attempting to unclump the sugar broke the sifter doing so. So, I ask you, when you spend beaucoup bucks for Organic Powdered Sugar shouldn’t you receive a product that is useable? Needless to say, the sugar covered the kitchen, bittering the mood for all that had to clean.

Weather was Chili today

I have always wanted to add savory items to the menu – I wish we all had the strength and customer base to do so on a regular basis. Amy’s foccacia is amazing – sundried tomato and basil, rosemary, garlic olive oil, crispy, moist – yummy; her grilled veggie empanadas…..delish – I do the grilling myself and she pockets them in her delicious pastry dough. The former would be a wonderful compliment to a hearty soup which we are planning for next week, but for today, we made chili. We actually sold a bunch of the batch, and anticipate that we will sell the rest tomorrow. Haven’t heard anything about the big contest in Keyport with reference to our performance and how we were rated. As we were unable to complete the contest due to running out of chili prior to contest end, we will probably be disqualified, but we gave it the ol’ school try, and evidently some of you out there enjoyed. Yeah!

Can a Vegan Chef dethrone the Cajun King?

We’ll see, won’t we. The Cajun King of Keyport, Drew from Drew’s Bistro has reigned supreme at the Chili Fest for many years now, and although we attempted to take the crown last year, sadly, we did not. However, Miss Amy, our wonderful new Vegan Elf/Pastry Chef, is determined to take him down to the vegan ground with her Vegan Chili. Come and check out the Chili Fest this weekend in Keyport where free chili samples will be given out all about the town. Papa Ganache will have Vegan Chili, as well as some other surprises to tempt your tastebuds.

VegNews: “Jersey Shore’s Hidden Gem”

Contrary to what pop culture might tell you, the Jersey Shore isn’t all about GTL (gym, tanning, and laundry). The shore is also home to Papa Ganache, a vegan bakery that not only brings sweet treats mainstream, but also helps at-risk teens and kids who suffer from severe behavioral issues, low self-esteem, or depression….
